My hair has been thinning for the last 5 years. At the time the cause was atrributed to stress. Stress reduction had little effect. Thyroid was tested with normal results. Cycles are now becoming more rapid (22 days) and scantier. I do not know age of menopause in my mother or grandmother due to hysterectomy. I will be 40 soon.

However, my hair loss has become noticeable to others. Hairs break or shed and seems not to grow back very quickly.

Please suggest what I should investigate further.

I am 42 and have had a partial in hysterectomy in 2003. My mother had breast cancer and I won’t take pharmeceutical grade hormones. I am having issues with hot flashes, mood swings, hair loss and and just recently weight gain. I have tried to search the internet with no success. I would appreciate any help that I can get at this point.

Just wondering has anyone ever gone to an obgyn visit with a diagnois of possible endometriosis and a large fibroid to be told you need to go on LUPRON and then DEPOROVA for a year or until you reach menopause. This if it takes your pain away will tell us you have endometriosis and then we can decide after that regarding surgery but you must go on it for at least 6 mohtns to a year. I suffer from chronic pain for 4 years which gets worse and debiliting for me right before my period. Other obgyns told me in the past that a myometctomy can be done to remove the fibroid or a hysterectomy b/c of the high level of pain you are in. I did ask what are my options and I was told this was my only option as we here at (XXXX) will not do that. LUPRON is the drug from hell and how any dr. can put any woman on this drug needs thier head examined. I did mention the side effects of this drug and she seemed to downplay the side effects. I was at first elated to think great no surgery but then I found more info on the drug which blew my mind!! OF course surgery is a last resort but after 4 years of pain from another condition which gets considerably worse before my period why was i given only one option and no more. I am young and on Medicare and will reach menopause in about 4 years. Maybe she was trying to help by putting me on this drug but I have never been told you only have one option only and if I could find someone else to do the surgery then go ahead but surgery is invasive etc. She also said htat fibroids do not cause pain b/c women who have babies in their uterus do not get pelvic pain and babies are much much bigger. Mine is on the back of my uterus. I have had 3 dcotrs in the past tell me to get it removed or to get a hysterectomy but this is the first to say you only have one option we do not offer anything else. LUPRON Jfirst to see how you do. IS this normal……………………? jsut curious as I am trying to understand the no other option thing until you try this first to make sure this is what is really causing your pain. Any thoughts anyone………………….this is what I fjound about LUPRON……………..

I also found another site with over 30-40 womens testimonials on the horrific side effects they went through from heart attack, to forgetting, memeory loss, hot lfahes, anger, depression, heaches, nauseau and hair falling out and after they stopped many were dealing with effects that did not go away. I did not put this on here as they would not have wanted it on yahoo would my guess…………………………thanks

surgically induced menopause

Menopause can be "induced" so to speak?

In addition to surgery or medication? JustMe: Unfortunately, they seem incapable to understand the problem first. Jeetjemina!

If you were to have a doctor to induce menopause, it would be surgically or pharmacy. Otherwise it would not be induced. Simply going to happen. Forms menopause accident – the ovary runs out of eggs or levels of hormones of the menstrual cycle and do not become deficient conditions to maintain the maturation of follicles to release the eggs. Other conditions may be "induced" menopause – ovarian torsion and ischemic damage in the ovaries – Ovarian infection – pelvic tumors or ovarian tumors or structures other cancers spread to the ovaries would be very negative for the negligence of a physician to induce menopause using one of these methods. Or are you asking if there are alternative methods herbal or to induce the menopause?
