Im approaching the menopause and Im sure my hair is thinning a bit. It seems finer also and there are about 6-8 hairs that come loose after hair washing or styling. Do I have hair loss???? If so what can I do about it.
If you examine popular hair loss forums you will find that the #1 question asked is which hair loss product on the market is the best? The problem is there doesn’t seem to be an easy answer to that question. Even hair loss experts offer no consensus when the question is presented to them.
But the experts are right, as it is not possible to find a perfect answer for that question, but yes one can ask the same question in a different way for getting a suitable answer, like which product would be best for my hair loss problem. Still this question is not quite specific to be answered easily, yet one can find an answer through trial and error.
Most people start out experimenting with natural home remedies. However, a few of these are truly unacceptable. For example, I’ve seen some people recommend applying cow dung to the scalp. Cow dung? I’m sorry it’s just not practical. However, there are some home remedies that may help with the problem:
· One can apply sage tea with apple cider vinegar and a combination of a number of different oils, like almond oil, olive oil, amla oil and castor oil. Before application of the oil it should be warmed for a feel good experience.
· Giving a treatment to your hair with coconut milk, egg yolk, honey and aloe vera gel can produce a rejuvenating effect on your hair.
But each of these substances should be carefully washed out after a while. There’s no need to do the same in case of sage tea & apple cider.
Products For Hair Care:
The best hair care product for your hair can be a shampoo or a conditioner a well. Different people have different choices, like Nizoral shampoo is famous among some people while some people would like to use Mane and Tail shampoo. Still hairdressers have their own opinions while choosing the best hair care products.
Remedies That Are Herbal In Nature:
There are people who believe in nothing but the herbal products for their hair loss solutions, but only an herbal expert can suggest the best herbs for the same. There are various natural products available in different forms and a few of the important ones are described below:
Several of the products are taken in the form of pills or in the form of lotions that you can directly apply on to your scalp, like Saw palmetto, Ginko biloba, Chinese herb “he shou wu”, Stinging nettle, Aloe vera and Pygeum. Remember use these remedies with special care.
Many people would only recommend Minoxidil (Rogain®) as the best solution that is available over-the-counter. It equally effective for women as it is for men, but the discontinuance of this remedy leads to reappearance of the balding hair. Provillus is a product that contains Minoxidil and other helpful ingredients. The nice thing about the internet is you can find some really nice provillus testimonials. However, before you rush out and buy provillus online or any other over-the-counter product you must know that these products take as long as 3 months to work so patience is recommended.
Medications Available On Prescription Only:
There are some remedies that can only be obtained on a prescription (e.g., Propecia) that is beneficial. Apart from these treatments you also have the option of wigs & weaves that are more suited in case of temporary thinning hair or in case of hair loss arising due to chemotherapy.
You are the last person who is going to choose the right solution for thinning hair, so you must analyze solutions first before going for a particular hair loss treatment. It is not necessary that every person will find the right solution in this way, but one can only hope so.

Losing your hair can be a devastating thing. However, all is not lost. There are many thinning hair remedies that can be successfully utilized. As you’ve done your research you probably ran across Chinese herbs. Some people tout these herbs as the answer to hair loss. I wouldn’t go that far, but there is a growing body of people who have had success with these products.
Chinese herbs try to restore the right pattern of energies in the body. These herbs are believed to greatly stimulate the hair follicles that result in the growth of hair. Another condition is inflammatory response of the body against acidity due to bad diet, pollution and other toxins and also some kind of infections that have negative effects on the growth of hair. Most of the people suffering from alopecia areata have both the above symptoms.
So, it becomes quite necessary to counter these two evils of acidity and inflammation in order to restore the yin energy that helps in cooling the body and stimulating the hair growth. He Shou Wu, polygonum herb also known as Fo-ti, can effectively treat alopecia aerata. In China this herb is being used for centuries as a treatment for early age loss of hair, graying of hair and also as a tonic for longer life. It has been found that this herb can give a new life to the hair follicles and can act as a great tonic for body & brain together. But it is advisable to wait for 3-6 months before its effects start showing for itself.
According to some research conducted in China, the two herbs, eclipta & lingustrum, can counter the effects of alopecia aearata by restoring the yin energy of the kidney and liver.
Another thinning hair remedy that works very well if utilized together with the above listed herbs is Chinese wolfberries. It stimulates the circulation of blood into the hair follicles and thus helps in hair growth and is also used as a tonic for the whole body.
There are other herbs too that can be consumed in combination to inhibit the causes of alopecia that are acidity & inflammation. The herbs are honeysuckle, mint and dandelion. There are other supplements too that can prove beneficial for hair growth if consumed with the Chinese herbs, like nettle tea, black sesame seeds, vitamin C, black beans and flaxseed oil, which act against the toxicity and inflammation.
Many people rely on Chinese herbs when dealing with the problem of hair loss, as it is a completely and natural way of getting a remedy against the hair loss. However, like anything else, they will not work for everyone so a little experimentation is required. Products like Rogaine, Hair Genesis and Provillus have some good research to support their use. However, there are more things you should know before you should research before you buy provillus or any other product.
