its not a hormone related problem, because my levels were tested. i looked at the effect of taking estrogen but i still want to know if could i get estrogen pills to stop hair loss? and would more hair grow in or would my existing hair just grow faster? also would all the hair fall out if i stopped taking the pills?

Thanks in advance

Also, on a side note. Can taking birth control cause hair loss? I know birth control….can just kinda screw up your hormones, so I’m wondering if that can contribute. Or does the estrogen actually increase hair growth?
Lately over the past several months, my hair has been thinning gradually, mostly at the very top of my head. I’m noticing it more now when I part my hair. Particualrly when my hair is wet, or a little oily, I notice the thinning more.

There’s nothing in my hair care regimen that is contributing to it, so I’ve narrowed down causes to either Stress, Genetics, and lastly, hormones. So I’m considering buying some rogain. According to WebMD, men’s Rogain ((5%)) has a higher potency of medicine than the women’s does ((2%)). So I’m wondering, is it safe for me to use men’s rogain if I’m a girl? Or is that too powerful.

I am currently taking estrogen, progesterone. Spiro ( blocker), a womens multi vitamin and Saw Palmetto to help with hair loss.

I'd love to hear from others who have helpful tips for my future developments.

And to the religous sector please no harsh words. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
I did confirm with my doc about the Saw Palmetto.
SP helps with keeping the prostate in check. The one side affect is that it helps with hair loss.

Hello! I've been on the mini-pill since having my first child 18 months ago. Since then I have experienced the not so wonderful side effects such as hair loss, oily scalp, acne & a COMPLETE loss of my sex drive.

I'm trying to make the decision whether or not to go off of the pill and resort to the Fertility Awareness Method along with the use of condoms or abstenence during my fertile time. My question: Does the mini-pill alter my natural cycle? meaning when I stop taking it will my current cycle change making it difficult or impossible for me to use this method effectively? I really am not ready for another child right now, however I would like to start trying again about this time next year. Am I taking too much of a risk of getting pregnant if I try this or should I just continue to take the pill and deal with these awful side effects?

Also, I can' be on any form of birth control that contains estrogen, that leaves me with no other option besides Fertility Awareness.
