Been taking Natural Progesterone USP for menopause. Have not noticed too much of a difference. Any other ideas on what to take for depression, moodiness, and other menopause related health issues. It has hit me hard but I am finally on the end of it. Any help for natural remedies is great.
Im 20 and was taking Levora (low estrogen and low progestin) for 6 months – I didnt like the bloating, hair loss, irratablility, increased hunger, etc. So yesterday I started Necon 10/11 and I have slight tenderness and irratiability but other than that I'm fine for now.
My Question: the Necon has twice the amount of progesterone than the Levora but the SAME amount of estrogen. I've been searching the web and journals but cannot find out: What effects does raising progesterone levels have on a female?
My mom called me today and was telling me how a couple years ago her hair started falling out and she started getting her periods every 2 weeks, she thought she was going through menopause and went to her dr. it turned out she was just really stressed. since then her periods have been every 2 weeks exactly on schedual… well her last period ended on a sat. and she got it again on the next sunday… about a week apart… this time she is bleeding REALLY heavily, soaking through tampons in about an hour, when she went to the bathroom she had a couple clots come out… She also mentioned that she felt really tired the past couple days and a little weak… i think it may be from the loss of blood. Do you think it could be menopause? Or has anyone else had this happen to them? I tried to get her to go back to the dr but she said she wont until she stops bleeding but im really worried for her. please help if you can!
i would like to go see a specialist but im not sure which one to choose..?

Just wondering has anyone ever gone to an obgyn visit with a diagnois of possible endometriosis and a large fibroid to be told you need to go on LUPRON and then DEPOROVA for a year or until you reach menopause. This if it takes your pain away will tell us you have endometriosis and then we can decide after that regarding surgery but you must go on it for at least 6 mohtns to a year. I suffer from chronic pain for 4 years which gets worse and debiliting for me right before my period. Other obgyns told me in the past that a myometctomy can be done to remove the fibroid or a hysterectomy b/c of the high level of pain you are in. I did ask what are my options and I was told this was my only option as we here at (XXXX) will not do that. LUPRON is the drug from hell and how any dr. can put any woman on this drug needs thier head examined. I did mention the side effects of this drug and she seemed to downplay the side effects. I was at first elated to think great no surgery but then I found more info on the drug which blew my mind!! OF course surgery is a last resort but after 4 years of pain from another condition which gets considerably worse before my period why was i given only one option and no more. I am young and on Medicare and will reach menopause in about 4 years. Maybe she was trying to help by putting me on this drug but I have never been told you only have one option only and if I could find someone else to do the surgery then go ahead but surgery is invasive etc. She also said htat fibroids do not cause pain b/c women who have babies in their uterus do not get pelvic pain and babies are much much bigger. Mine is on the back of my uterus. I have had 3 dcotrs in the past tell me to get it removed or to get a hysterectomy but this is the first to say you only have one option we do not offer anything else. LUPRON Jfirst to see how you do. IS this normal……………………? jsut curious as I am trying to understand the no other option thing until you try this first to make sure this is what is really causing your pain. Any thoughts anyone………………….this is what I fjound about LUPRON……………..

I also found another site with over 30-40 womens testimonials on the horrific side effects they went through from heart attack, to forgetting, memeory loss, hot lfahes, anger, depression, heaches, nauseau and hair falling out and after they stopped many were dealing with effects that did not go away. I did not put this on here as they would not have wanted it on yahoo would my guess…………………………thanks
in the life of every woman. Fortunately, there are many things you can do to take control. The vast majority of the symptoms of PMS, and up to menopause can be minimized, with some dietary measures.
DIET TO COMBAT SPM
In general, women who experience one or more of the following, in the week before menstruation – Anxiety, stress, headaches, depression, breast tenderness, fluid retention, bloating, lack of energy and irritability.
Vitamin B6 has been shown in many studies to help many patients with premenstrual. Lately, researchers have discovered that vitamin B6 in combination with zinc is more effective. (The latter B6 On average, within 3-5 months in a program or dietary supplements rich in vitamin B6, zinc and magnesium, a significant improvement can be achieved.
In some cases premenstrual syndrome, hormonal changes disturb blood glucose control and put the sugar (and challenging) requests associated with fatigue and irritation. In such cases, a low level of sugar, no caffeine diet can make a big difference. Avoid soft drinks, concentrated juices, sauces and large amounts of caffeine. In a small percentage of women, indicating a hormonal imbalance PMS pronounced, that does not respond to diet or supplements. This imbalance is usually due to the dominance of estrogen and the relative lack of progesterone. This condition can buy more long-term use of birth control pills. Testing and treatment is needed for a nutrition consultant or a qualified doctor.
WINNING THE WAR AGAINST THE MENOPAUSE.
The natural transition from the fertile phase of life for women, menopause often occurs aged between 45-50 (sometimes earlier). You can arrive without many symptoms, but often is accompanied by a multitude of them, such as hot flashes, sweating night, fatigue and joint pain.
FOOTBALL – The skeleton IN YOUR CLOSET.
Soccer buys a much greater emphasis in recent years. In fact a combination of calcium and magnesium in a formula of "blood" pills (more than vitamin D) is often more effective than standard calcium pills. These work better when taken with foods rich in protein (meat, eggs, beans) and before bedtime, such as calcium helps promote sleep. Ideally, young women should start taking calcium supplements (and not wait until menopause) for calcium to build "reserves" in the bones. Start eating foods rich in calcium and high non-fat milk powder, dairy products and beans.
FOLATE – The Final Fighter.
Vitamin B9 or folic acid (40-60 mg) is very useful. Oranges spinach, green leafy vegetables, beans, and nuts are rich sources of folic acid.
